Crimson Spade [1]
'Ever since I was little, he's always been my light. My big brother, King to the Kingdom of Spades. He was a kind, and caring, responsible and wholehearted person. Back when he was a prince, and my father was the King, we used to play together, a lot. But once he became king, out play time had decreased, and he could only play whenever he had the time for me. Though, when we weren't playing games like hide and seek and tag, he would always be doing his best at his paperwork.'
"Trinity, let's go play in the garden." He said happily to his younger sister.
"Okay, big brother!" She replied to her dear brother with a grin.
He took her small hand in his and started walking down the stairs with her. "What game would you like to play today?"
"Mm...How about hide and seek?"
"The hide and seek it is." He chuckled lightly.
'Despite having to busy with work all the time, he was my everything. He was the best big brother in the world. He was my only big brother...and no one could ever replace him. Why? Because the things he did for his Kingdom was just--He was our light. Just with his smile alone, people were able to forget about their troubles and looked forward to a promised future. Lots of people loved my big brother. Except for one person; one spiteful person.'
Flashback
"Thank goodness I finished my work; now I can join Trinity and everyone at the party and give her birthday present. She'll be so happy." A panda bear was being held tightly in the young king's hand as he ran through the hallways of his palace.
"King of Spades."
"!" A low and grumbly voice caught the attention of the king. As he turned around, he saw a shady figure right down the end of the hallway. The shady figure stood right in front of the window, dressed in all black clothing. "It's you." The king seemed casual in his speech as he recognized the person behind the black. "What are you doing here?"
"I've come to get rid of you."
"'Get rid of me'? Do you really think you can do such a thing to me?"
"Whether I kill you or not, you will be king no more."
"And if I don't comply to being killed?"
"I'll kill the princess."
"You can't do that. The Royal Flush is downstairs. There is no way you can get to her."
"Did you really think I would come alone." I've got about 5 to 8 men hiding in the ballroom, dressed as noblemen for a sweet little girls birthday party.
"Don't you dare harm her!"
"It all depends on whether you cooperate." Not another word was said between the two. Only a smug smirk played out on the mysterious man's lips.
Meanwhile, the small princess was downstairs at her part having fun. 3 boys that were the same age as she, were especially glued to her. Playing with her and keeping her company. These three boys were the princes' from the other Kindom's. Prince Vincent de Rigal of the Diamond Kingdom, prince Leo Duval of the Club Kingdom, and prince Louis de Vallotton of the Heart Kingdom. Each of these young boys were targeting Trinity's heart in the process while all being close childhood friends.
"Trinity-chan, are you okay?" One of the boys asked as he peered in the young girls face. "You look kinda sad, even though it's your birthday."
"Vincent-kun, I don't think need anymore gifts." The boy whose name was Louis said. "I think she's content with the gifts you already bought her."
"Are you, Trinity?" The boy named Vincent asked young Trinity.
"...I want my big brother." Trinity couldn't help but keep that frown glued to her face.
"Don't worry Trinity-chan, he'll come down from work soon! I know he wouldn't want to miss your birthday for anything!" Leo gave a big ol' grin to try and calm her down. "Hey, you guys help out too!" Leo whispered in secret to them.
"L-Leo-kun is right, Trinity-chan. Until he comes down from working, we'll keep you company." Vincent nodded for reasurrance.
"Thank you, Leo, Louis, Vincent, but I still want to go check up on him. Will you all accompany me?" Trinity managed to smile a bit as she asked the boys for the company. To that cute smile that caused them all to blush, how could they refuse.
"I-I'll come with you, Trinity-chan!" Leo stuttered while straightening up to saluted her.
"M-me too!" Louis straightened up too.
"I'll go as well!" Vincent as well.
"Let's go then!" Trinty perked up. Trinity started to make her way through the crowd of adults along with her mates following behind her. Eventually, all the pushing past led to the big stairs which led to the main hallway where the nobles rooms lay. As soon as Trinity put one foot down on a step, she was stopped by something moving in front of her. "Eh?"
"Princess Trinity, where do you think you're going?" It was her peronsal maid Mary. She had scooped Trinity up, stopping her in her tracks.
"P-put me down, please, Mary-chan!" Trinity started to flail around in the young maids arms.
"As you wish." The maid named Mary put down Trinity. "Now, please tell me why you were trying to go upstairs. I hope it wasn't to bother the king during his work. I told you he was busy."
"I wasn't going to bother him! Honestly!" She told her earnestly. "...I just wanted to see if he was going to come downstairs anytime soon." Trinity looked down with a sad face and puffed out cheeks.
"She's telling the truth, Mary-san!" Leo spoke out.
"It's not that I don't believe you, but you must be patient. You big brother, the king, will be down so-"
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Mary's voice was drowned out by the loud, booming and echoing shots of a gun. "W-what was that?" Mary whipped her around with widened eyes as the ringing dragged out in her ears. Behind her, the crowd of guests light chattering and whispers could be heard. Their light chattering contained concern of the gunshot.
"T-the king! Royal Flush," Mary turned to knights that were dressed in pure white and gold with the trimming of royal blue. "Please go upstairs and find the king and see if he is alright!"
"Yes!" The group of 10 knights rushed up the stairs as quick as they could, holding swords and shields in their hands as they charged forward.
"Big brother!" Trinity moved over and ran past Mary, following behind the Royal Flush.
"Your highness!" Mary called out to her as she watched the small girl's fast feet carry her up the stairs.
"Trinity-chan!" Leo called and the others called after her. The boys started running after Trinity, but got cuaght up by the palaces gaurds. "Let us gotdammit!"
Trinity almost tripping over her dress and feet, kept moving forward as fast as she could. Eventually, she ended up passing the knight and running ahead of them. "Big brother!"
"Princess Trinity!" One of the men called out. "Please come back!"
Trinity ran all the way down the dark hallway, not being able to see. The only thing that she could possibly see was the light being shown through the window at the end of the hallway. Trinity could as well see a pitch black human figure in the sill of the window. 'A man?' "Stop!" Trinity continued to run. The black figure turned around to look at trinity, but then turned back around and jumped from the window. Eventually, Trinity ended up tripping over her own feet and falling down.
"Princess Trinity!" The same man called out to her. "Are you alright, princess Trinity!"
"Nicholas." Trinity looked back at the crowd of rushing men. "I'm fine, thank you."
As the knight named Nicholas caught up to Trinity, he stopped right in front of her and bent down to her level. In a few seconds, he noticed something odd. 'It smells like blood.' "Someone turn on the lights!" Nicholas ordered.
"I think I landed in something wet, but I don't know what thought." Trinity looked at her palms but couldn't quite make out the liquid. In a matter of seconds, the lights flicked on in the hallway and Nicholas was able to identify with his wide eyes, the reason for the smell of blood and why Trinity felt wet. Nicholas' wide eyes roamed the walls of the hallways and the objects placed in it. Eventually, he casted his eyes downwards to the ground where Trinity still was. His heart stopped. 'No...!!' Nicholas reaction was followed by gasps behind him.
"Eh? Is this fruit punch?" Trinity looked at her hands and could now get a good look at why she wet. Trinity looked down and then saw the fruit punch like color spreading around under her dress. As she attempted to look back, Nicholas noticed and had to act fast.
"Princess Trinity!" Nicholas grabbed Trinity into his arms and held her close to his chest. "I beg of you, please do not look!"
"N-Nicholas, what are you doing? Please let me go, I cannot breathe." She tried to push back away from him.
"I am sorry princess, but I cannot!"
"Why not?"
"Nicholas, let go of me!" Trinity twisted around and around until she was faced away from Nicholas. Trinity opened her eyes and for a split second found them opening wider. "....Who is that?" Before Trinity was a lifeless corpse of a man with crimson red blood pooling under it. Trinity had instantly recognized the clothing on the corpse. Her eyes roamed the walls and plants in the hallways as Nicholas did. "Is that blood?"
"Princess, do not look!" Nicholas yelled. Even though he yelled, there was grief struck on his face.
"Nicholas-chan, let me go. Let me go!!" Trinity wriggled herself free from Nicholas' grasp and moved towards the corpse.
"Princess Trinity, please move away from the body!" Nicholas ordered. But Trinity did not obey.
"Big brother?" Trinity scanned the body up and down, slowly advancing towards the body's head to confirm her beliefs. Eventually the clothes and hair, looked all too the same as her brothers. When Trinity saw a white and blacked stuffed bear in the corpses hand, she started to feel a bit limp. Finally, Trinity stood in front of the body's head and immediately felt her knees give in.
"Princess!"
"Big brother...." Trinity's trembling hand reached out to take his lifeless hand and move it up to her cheek. "You can't be dead....right?" Trinity reached her small hands out to her brothers body and touched his cold face. Her blood stained fingertips left blood strokes on his cheek and she moved them away. As Nicholas watched Trinity, his grieved face got worse as he looked down in shame. As Trinity held her brother's hand up to her face, she began to think about something in the back of her mind. At the moment, she looked up to the ceiling and a single teardrop ran down her right cheek. 'It's too soon...don't you think?' Trinity then looked back down to the body, then at the stuffed bear and took it up into her arms. She squeezed it against her chest before gathering back all the strength she could muster into her legs and standing back up.
Nicholas noticed her and got curious. "Princess?"
"Trinity took in a slow deep breathe in and then out. "Nicholas! Order half of your men to chase after the man in all black! The other half will make sure that the guests are safe!"
"P-princess..." Nicholas was completely appalled by Trinity's sudden change of talk and attitude. "W-what man in all black?"
"Hurry up!! He jumped out the window just before you got here, so he shouldn't have gone far in our big field! So go and do not let him get away!!"
"Y-Yes princes! You heard her, half of you go after him and the other with the guests!" Nicholas yelled out the order.
"Sir!" They answered back and left to go do as they were told.
Meanwhile, the boys were still being held up by the Spades Guards. "Please put us down, we must go after Trinity-chan!" Louis plead.
"I'm sorry your highnesses, but we can't do that. It's most likely unsafe upstairs." A guard said.
"Unhand me you low life!" Vincent yelled. His kicking eventually led to the guard being kicked in the groin. The guard fell to his knees and ended up letting Vincent go. Vincent kicked the next two guards in the shin and had them drop both Leo and Louis.
"Good thinking Vincent! Let's go!" Leo said and started running up the stairs. Little did the trio know, the Royal Flush were coming down the stairs. Leo heard the rumbling of their feet and got a bit wary. When he saw the knights rushing down towards them, jumped out the way. "Watch out before you get trampled!" He called out to the boys. All three of them moved to the side of the stairs at the railings until the knights passed. Seeing the knights rush down the stairs the way they were, caused they people to panic a bit and get a bit rowdy. "C-come on guys! Let's go find Trinity-chan!" 'What the crap is going on?' Leo thought as continued to run. As the boys got into the hallway, they saw a knight and Trinity standing with a bear in her hand. As soon as he saw her, Leo grinned. "Trini..ty..." Leo's grin disappeared when he saw the crimson blood that blotched up her dress and parts of her skin. "Trinity-chan..."
"Leo, what's wrong?" Louis asked as him and Vincent stopped running. "!" The soon found out when they saw Trinity standing there with the bear hugged against her chest. Each boy found themselves unable to take their eyes off her.
End Flashback
'He shot and killed my older brother the night of my birthday party. I was turning 10 that day. I found my older brother laid out on the floor over his pool of blood that was steadily soaking into the rug in the hallway. In his arms was a bloodied stuffed panda bear. Next to his corpse was a note with words written on it. It was a riddle. If I have it, I shouldn't share it because if I share it, I won't have it. What is it? ' Was what it read. And that when I promised that I'd find the person who killed my big brother and execute them with my bare hands.'
'After that night and 5 years later, I decided to dedicate a whole 5 month to pure chaos. Bloodshed and grieve spread throughout my kingdom. Every single person, organization and more that seemed like an enemy or had something to do with the death of my brother were executed by my hands. I had, and still have power with a brain to accompany. People began to fear my name, yet still tried to get close to me. After that one month, everyone spread rumors saying that I had changed; that I wasn't the sweet and innocent princess they knew when my brother was around.. Not wanting to waver my people's image of me and further, I started to act like I how I was when I was younger, when they or anyone else besides the servants in my home. But when I was behind closed doors, inside my home, all alone, I would act like the changed person I had become after his death. A cautious, discrete, ruthless young girl with barely any emotions to hold. A changed young girl who also is planning out her next moves carefully.'
'My name is Trinity D' Leavitt, princess of the Kingdom of Spade. An intelligent 17-year old who is soon to be crowned queen of the Kingdom of Spade. I have yet to find the whereabouts of my older brothers killer.' There were 2 knocks on Rui's room door. As she looked over she opened her mouth. "Come in." As instructed, the doorknob turned and the door was pushed. In came the person that was behind the door.
"Princess, we have some dresses selected out for you that you can choose from, for tonight's party." It was a woman, a maid at that. Behind her were 4 other maids just like her, each with a gorgeous dress in their hand.
"Yes, thank you. You may leave them here." Trinity spoke and each maid trotted into her room, rested a dress down on her bed and turned around to leave after bowing respectively to her.
"Well then, princess." The first maid bowed and then closed the door.
'Tonight is a party, a very special one. Since today is my birthday, we're holding a party to celebrate. We have invited a lot of big top nobles. Out of those nobles, 3 very important and higher rank nobles will be attending this arrangement. From the Clubs, prince Leo Duval. His background information is unknown. From the Hearts, prince Louis de Vallotton. I only that he has a very dark past and his family is infamous for something, though I cannot remember as clearly as I would like to. And from the Diamonds, prince Vincent de Regal. He seemed pretty much normal, but I still don't like him. Overall I find them each of them a bit suspicious, and I don't whether I can trust them or not.'
Kindom of Club
"Come now, prince Leo, what is the answer?"
"Ahh~ I don't feel like doing this boring work Marco." A prince with dark hair sat in a chair at his desk, leaned back with his hands over his head to stretch. Next to his was a man that was dressed of that as a butler. The butler named Marco had a book in his hand with math equations in his hand. "I want to go out on the town and strike up a conversation with my people. Or at least do something more interesting than this."
"...You're always trying to skip out on your studies. Do you know how important it is that you retain information like this? You being difficult like this is what made your last math tutor quit on you." The butler sighed.
"Yeah, yeah. Tell me something I don't know." He sighed with the roll of his eyes.
"Fine, I guess we can take a 5 minute break-"
"Really!?" Leo bounced back to life.
"But right after, we have to continue, alright?"
"Fine, fine. So tell me, am I seriously going to get to see my Trinity this evening!"
"Yes, you will. You really are infatuated with the princess of the Spade kingdom, aren't you."
Leo couldn't help but smile. "More than you know. I've loved that girl ever since we were just kids. Running around in her palace and playing with her older brother when he'd have the time to play."
"Do you mean the King of the Spades kingdom? The one that was assassinated 7 years ago."
"Yup, it was exactly 10 years ago on this day; her birthday. I can tell that every year, on this day, she feels heartsick with the loss of her one and only brother. And because of that and another unspeakable event, it's been said throughout rumors that she has changed very much. But I and the others haven't seen Rui for so long, so we can't really say or get much information than that. And none of us has been able to get near or visit her Kingdom because of our busy schedules."
"..."
"I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one excited in getting to see Trinity once again."
"Your Highness..."
"But you know what! I'm pretty sure that I'll be the one to get first dibs on those soft lips of hers!" Leo grinned his teeth off.
"Y-your highness...*sigh* I'm assuming you're aware that princess Trinity of the Spade Kindom is of high royalty, correct."
"Well duh."
"And just like you, she had business to take care of. Speaking of which, we should get to some right now; break time is over."
"H-hey, that's not fair!"
"Nothing is fair in the world we live in, your highness."
Kingdom of Diamond
"Dresses, jewelry, shoes!"
"Check! Check! Check! All the correct numbers were accounted for!"
"Good job Joshua!" The handsome prince went up to his attendant and patted him on the shoulders. "I know I can always rely on you when it comes to helping me organize things like this for Trinity. I'm absolutely positive that the princess will love these. If it all works out the way I planned it out in my head, I'll be the one to take Trinity's heart and we will be together forever." He blushed, then began to laugh in triumph as he dreamed about the future with Trinity.
"U-Um...Prince Vincent?"
"Hm? What is it Joshua?" Vincent turned around and stopped laughing.
"This is just my opinion but...I don't think the princess will want all of these gifts. B-but you don't have to take my opinion into consideration!"
"What did you just say? She won't want them?!"
"N-No sir!" Joshua began to cower behind his clipboard.
"Joshua!"
"Y-yes sir!"
"What should I do?! Princess Trinity doesn't want these gifts!! What does she want!? What should I get her?!"
"M-maybe you can start out with something small. Just getting one special thing will allow her to see the worth of your love towards her."'Did I even make sense just now?'
"I see, I see. Joshua you're brilliant!" Vincent grabbed onto Joshua's shoulders and shook him. "I'll make sure to get the most cutest, smallest most adorable animal I can find! Joshua, fetch the carriage! The princess likes dogs, right?"
"E-Eh!? An animal!? 'But why?' Joshua found himself sighing. "Yes, my prince."
Kingdom of Heart
"It's been so long and know we finally get to see her."
"Might you be speaking of princess Trinity, prince Louis?"
"Yes. My heart cannot sit still even as we speak. What should I do, Martha, I'm getting more and more anxious as time draws near to this evenings event."
"Prince Louis, you seem to be very much infatuated with princess Trinity." Martha said as she walked down the hallway next to him.
"Louis chukled. "You're not wrong there." A bright color dusted across his face as he smiled gently.
"My prince, you're blushing once again for about the 6th time today."
"Y-you were counting?! E-excuse me, it's just that I'm genuily happy to get to see her tonight. I can finally face her with a more confidant and stronger look instead of the weak one I once held when I was a little boy. Though, I still feel a bit weak in a sense." Louis weakily smiled.
"Nonsense. My prince is just as gentle as a newborn lamb. Your humble personalilty, I'm sure, is what the princess wants."
"Maybe, but that's not what my father wants." The blush disappeared away from Louis's face and he all of a sudden wore of a visage of
gloom. "I wonder if it wasn't for this pure white hair of mine, would I be able to lead a normal life." He then became silent.
"Your higness." Martha became silent after him as well, not kowing how to comfort him. She knew how hard it was for Louis to try and get along with his father.
"Trinity, let's go play in the garden." He said happily to his younger sister.
"Okay, big brother!" She replied to her dear brother with a grin.
He took her small hand in his and started walking down the stairs with her. "What game would you like to play today?"

Spade Kingdom
"Louis! Vincent! It's been ages!" Leo exclaimed as he walked towards Louis and Vincent. A bright grin was worn on Leo's face. He had spotted the two walking with one another while walking up the palace stairs. Within the crowd of people walking inside the palace, he was able to spot the two.
"Leo," Louis started to speak. His eyes and smile presenting his gentle being. "It has been, too long."
"How have you guys been holding up!" Leo claimed the shoulders of each young man with two pats. "
"Very well, and what about yourself?" Vincent answered this time. He had a casual smile of his own as he answered Leo.
"Oh y' know, same. It's been pretty boring though without you guys and our crazy adventures. All this princely work is starting to turn my brain into mush. I need to do something fun, y' know what I'm saying. I just wish something crazy would happen so I wouldn't have to "
"Yes. Our times together when we were younger were quite fun indeed." Vincent agreed.
"Be careful of what you wish for, Leo. You just might get it. Come on, let's go in before we're late." Louis started walking up the stairs without the young men.
"Hey, no skin off my back." Leo smiled and both him and Vincent started walking behind Louis.
As the trio walked inside the palace, they were greeted by bright twinkling lights that hung from the beautiful chandeliers in the ceiling, the loud chattering of the guests in the ballroom, the elegant colors chosen for the room and the overwhelming beauty of the whole room itself. Each and every person in the room was some type of nobility. Dukes, Earls, viscounts and their likes. Though the only ones who had any really high standing were the three princess and Trinity themselves.
"Wow~" Leo said as his eyes roamed around the whole room. "Royal blue and pure white, Trinity's favorite colors. But I'd expect nothing less from the Spades. They have a knack for catching ones eye, don't you think gentlemen." Leo grinned while turning to look at the other two. As soon as they stepped inside there were screams and squeals directed towards the young handsome princes.
Louis chuckled. "You do have a point."
"Have you two gotten a present for Trinity?" Vincent started to speak.
"Speaking of presents-" Leo started off.
"You didn't get Trinity a whole mountain of gifts again, did you?" Louis finished off. Both of them looked at Vincent intensely, scared that he might tell them that he in fact did do such thing.
Vincent chuckled. "No, not this time. I managed to get her one thing, and something small."
"What?! You're bluffing man!" Leo was appalled by Vincent's answer and called his bluff on it. "There ain't no damn way that Vincent 'The Spending Machine' settled for just one thing." Leo folded his arms.
"I don't believe it either. I'd have to see it to believe you actually got one thing, and something small at that." Louis agreed.
All of sudden trumpets started to sound within the ballroom. A man dressed in guard clothing walked out from closed doors. "Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the princess of Spade kingdom herself: Princess Trinity d' Leavitt!" At that exact moment, a young petite girl stepped out from behind those same closed doors and out into the open for everyone to see. From head to toe, she was dressed in gorgeous drapes that were colored in the same hue as the ballroom, but had a trimming of gold to enrich her look. Her hair tied back into a tight and neat bun with a piece of curled side hair that only ran down the left side of her face. Lastly a dazzling diamond pin in the front of her bun to complete her stunning look.
"Gorgeous." The trio concurred all at once. Their eyes, as the rest of the guests, were glued to her personage. Even though it was silent for a while, whispers started to blow up. Those whispers contained conversations of how beautiful Trinity looked and son on. After a few more seconds of whispering, it became silent once again.
"Is that really our Trinity?" Leo said, his eyes never leaving off from Trinity.
"I believe so." Louis answered. His face was blushing red.
Trinity had stepped closer to the balcony where she could get a full sight of everyone in the room."Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm so overwhelmingly honored that you would step away from your busy schedules to join me in celebration of my 17th birthday." Trinity graced the crowd with a gentle and soothing smile. Her voice just as soothing. "Tonight will be a night filled with merrymaking. Please, enjoy like it your last. And I mean that." She mumbled the last piece under her breathe with a smile. After those words, ballroom music began to play and Trinity made a turn to leave.
"That's the first time in years that we've seen her and she still looks as adorable as ever." Leo stated as he watched her disappear behind the doors.
"Mm. You're definitely right about that." Louis agreed along with him. All of a sudden, right after Louis finished speaking a whole crowd of squealing women rushed towards the young males, wanting to dance with them. Each female was fighting their way to them. Leo, Louis, and Vincent evidently ended up getting swallowed up by a sea of young girls, just for being a possible dance partner.
"This is exactly why I hate these kind of events! We're always going to have to end up dancing sooner or later, and most girls are going to end up breaking nail or two just to dance with us!" Leo struggled in saying. "Jeez, all I want to do is dance with Trinity!" He whined. As soon as Leo said that, the bottom doors that lead out into the ballroom opened, and yet again the guests were greeted by Trinity. A lot of people stopped to look at her in all her glory. Trinity's feet carried her out onto the dance floor to look for a partner. As she looked around, her eyes locked with Louis'.
Louis had realized that she was staring right at him and saw that she was smiling at him, yet couldn't help but turn a deeper shade of blush. As Trinity started to advance towards him, Leo and Vincent popped their heads out of the sea of women and started looking at the two. Louis himself, could feel his heart thumping louder and louder within his very chest. Trinity eventually and finally stood before him.
"Prince Louis, may I have this dance?"
"Y-Y-Yes! Y-You may, princess!" 'She chose me! She really chose me!' Louis thought as he took Trinity's hand in his.
"What?!" Vincent and Leo couldn't believe what they were seeing. 'No way, she chose Louis!' Leo couldn't believe what he was witnessing.
'Trinity...' Vincent had a somewhat sullen look on his face.
Louis brought Trinity out onto the dance floor and began to dance after the initiation of a bow and a curtsy. "Thank you for accepting my invitation to come, Prince Louis." Trinity began to speak with a soft smile.
"N-no, it was my pleasure." Louis blushed in saying. He placed his right hand on Trinity's waist and the other in her hand, while Trinity had her right hand in his left and her left hand on his back. The two began to glide across the room.
"Trinity, it's be-"
"Princess Trinity." Trinity corrected him. 'Who is he to be using just my first name when addressing me. He acts as if we were long term friends.'
"O-Oh....Princess Trinity."
"Yes?"
"O-Oh um....nevermind."
"If that's the case." In about 2 minutes, the song stopped and again, she and Louis bowed to one another. Trinity started to walk away from Louis without saying anything to him. But then she stopped and looked back at him. "Thank you for the dance prince Louis."
"Yes. Thank you for the dance as well, princess." Louis seemed completely dazed by her surprising attitude.
"Louis, what's wrong?" Leo came over towards him and gave him a pat on the shoulder. Louis was brought back from his daze and looked at Leo.
"How was your dance with Trinity, Louis?" Vincent came over with a menacing aura, which made Louis in flinch in return.
"Something's not right." Louis continued to look in the direction Trinity left in.
"What do you mean?" Leo raised a brow.
"Something about Trinity seems different."
"Different meaning?" Leo pushed him on to talk.
"She seems a bit distant...and cold. When I tried to call her by her name when were dancing, she corrected me as if I had tarnished her name or something.
"Maybe Trinity just doesn't like you anymore." Leo joked and laughed out.
"W-what!? She doesn't like me?"
"Relax, it was a joke Louis. That adorable doesn't have one hate cell in her body. And we're on of the few people who know her best."
"...Mm."
As the party progressed, people were still chatting, drinking, laughing, having a great time, just as if it were their last night. All was silent when you saw Trinity presented herself in the middle of the room. "Everyone, I'm feeling a bit sleepy so I'm afraid that I must retire for the night. A princess must get her beauty rest after all." There was laughter throughout the room. "But I urge you all to continue the night in my stead. The night is still young." After her brief announcement Trinity began to walk away with two of her maid following behind her.
"Chance!" Leo said to himself as he watch Trinity walk out of the room. "I'll be back you two." He told Vincent and Louis. Leo snuck his way past the women and tailed quietly, without being noticed- behind Trinity and her maids. They went through big white doors, which led to a hallway with red carpet flooring and white walls with golden trimmings near the ceiling and floor. Leo heard Trinity mumbling to her maids about something but didn't care and decided to make his presence known. "Trinity!"
Trinity whipped her head back and saw Leo walking towards her with a big grin plastered on his face. 'What the hell is he doing here?' She thought. "...Prince Leo, why are you not back with everyone else at the party?" She asked while turning fully around to face him.
"Aw cut it out with the 'prince' thing, it's suffocating; plus we're not with the other guys so it's all good." Leo walked all the way up to Trinity and took her chin in his hand. "Just call me Leo like you did when were kids." Leo smiled.
'What in the world is this fool babbling about? Whatever the hell he's trying to do though, it's pissing me off.' Trinity looked up at Leo with glaring eyes. She took her hand and smacked Leo's hand away with it. Leo arched a brow in surprise to Trinity's action. "Prince Leo, this will be my first and last warning towards you, do not touch me so casually. I will call whatever I please, and you will address me as either princess, or princess Trinity."
'What?' Leo couldn't believe his ears.
"Both you and prince Louis are acting ridiculously familiar with me even though we are now meeting for the first time in our lives. I advise that you keep out of my from now on, for your own good. Now if you will excuse me." Trinity turned her back on Leo and continued her way down the hall as continued to speak to her maids. "As I was saying..."
"Trinity....?" Leo was left standing there, dumbfounded. "What the hell? Was I hearing right? Or did I drink to much?" Leo watched as the maids and Trinity walked into a room and closed the door shut. Then, he took the opportunity to go up to the door and listen in on her conversation. He couldn't hear so well when he put his head near the door, so he had to put his ear on the door.
"Make sure all the windows and doors are locked shut and make sure that the gas is ready. No one is to leave that room."
"Yes your highness." The maids answered her.
'Gas?' Leo turned around and ran back to the party. He found Louis and Vincent both drinking and chatting with one another. Louis saw Leo at the corner of his eye and turned in his direction. "Hey, I'm back..."
"Leo, what's the matter? Does your head hurt? Do you feel sick?" Louis kept asking.
"I'm fine...sort of. Louis, you were right. Something's not right about Trinity."
"What do you mean?"
"She acted like we've never even met before. It was really weird. How could she not remem-"
Tssss~
Leo had stopped right in the middle of his sentence because his ears had picked up the sound of leaking gas. "What the heck?" Leo's eyes searched the room for the sound. All the way across the room he identified a small can and gas emitting from it. But that can wasn't the only one. There was a one opposite on another side of the room emitting gas as well. "Crap!"
"Leo, what's the matter?"
"Come on we have to leave the room, now!" Leo yelled at them.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
"!" Leo looked behind Louis and he could see two women and man dropping to the floor. "Louis! Vincent! We have to get out of here now!"
"Wait, why?" Louis questioned.
"Just come one, I'll explain later!" Leo started running off and with Louis and Vincent running behind him. Leo looked left, right and all around to look for a way to exit, but it seemed as if all the door were locked. As the the trio continued to run around the room, gas started to fill the air and the guests became more anxious and scared. People were dropping left and right and soon enough, people started fighting for a way out as well. "Louis! Vincent! Help me look for way out of here!" Leo ordered. 'Dammit, what's going on!?'
"Leo, I found a door!" Louis spoke up.
"What?" Leo and Vincent stopped in his tracks and looked back at Louis. "Where?! Show me!"
"Over there!" Louis sweat dropped while stopping and pointing to a white door that was cracked open.
"Let's go!" The trio started back running, as fast as they could away from the unknown gas. As soon as they got to the door, they saw a servant from the palace with their hand on the door, about to close it. "Oh no you don't!" Leo sped up and grabbed hold of the door and swung it open with a swift pull. The servant was maid and she tripped forward as she was suddenly tugged. "Sorry, let's go!" The men stepped over her, while apologizing.
"W-wait!" She tried to call them back as they raced down the red carpeted hallway. "Please come back!"
"That is one thing we're not about to do!" Leo said while still running.
"Guards! Please go after the princes'!" she called for the royal guards.
"Shit! She's calling backup! Now I know for sure that we should have been back in that room. But I'm not going out that way!"
"Leo! What's going on?" Louis asked, frantic. "Do you know something?!"
"Louis, I'm just as clueless as you! I have no idea that is going on but I know that we probably would have died if we stayed in that room!" Seeing as they were still being chased by the guard, The young men made a right turn into another hallway and ran straight into a room with a red door and black doorknob. Luckily when the guard turned the corner too, they went right past them.
"It's pitch black in this room." Vincent noted.
"It is, but more importantly where is the light switch." Louis said. As soon as that was said the light flicked on. The boys all turned around at the same time and their eyes widened. Before their eyes, was none other than Trinity. "Trinity? I thought you retired for the night? What are you doing in this room? Are you alright?" Louis kept asking questions. Vincent himself was baffled.
"What are you three doing in here? Why aren't you in the ballroom." Trinity's voice was stern.
Leo gave a stern look back to her. "Trinity." He started.
"Princess Trinity." She corrected him.
'What the heck is all of this?' Leo and the other 2 looked in front of them, behind Trinity and found a big screen with a whole bunch of blinking lights and technology light right under it. The big screen held a clear picture of the ballroom which contained almost all of the guests. The samed guests who were now, and still collapsing to the floor, some crashing down along with their drinks in their hands. Leo took a step forward towards her.
"Stay where you are!" She place a hand in front of her to stop him, but he kept walking up to her. "Stay where you are!" Before she knew it, Leo was right before her. "What do want?" She glared up at him. Leo took his hand and grabbed up Trinity's wrist. "Unhand me prince Leo! Unhand me!" Trinity started to wriggled away from him, but Leo's grip was strong and he looked as if he had no intention of letting go.
"Trinity, what the hell is all of this? What's going on? Tell me." He demanded.
"This is none of your business! You should have been in the ballroom with everyone else!"
"Were you planning on killing us?!"
"And what if I did!?" She girt her teeth and barked.
"Trinity..." Louis called to her. "You...wanted to kill us? But, why?"
"To be quite frank, I have no use for you or those in that ballroom. In the end, my goal is to get revenge for Leon and that's all that matters the most to me right now!"
"Trinity..."
"Princess Trinity!" All of a sudden a guard busted open the door to the room they were in and called out to her.
"What is it?" Trinity threw down arm to make Leo let go of her and continued to speak to the guard.
"We have intruders inside the palace?"
"What?! So why in the world are you here?! Go find them!" Trinity ordered and sent the guard out of the room.
'I'm guessing that guard didn't wasn't apart of that mob that was sent after us.' Leo thought.
"I've finally got you princess."
"?!" All four of them were startled by the deep voice that echoed throughout their ears. The lights shut off suddenly and they got even more worried."*Screams*"
"Trinity!" The young men all called out to her through the pitch black room.
"Unhand me you scoundrel! Let me go!" All of a sudden the lights flicked back and the boys could see Trinity struggling with an arm wrapped around her neck and a man holding her in place. In the other hand of the man, was a sharp dagger.
"Trinity!" Leo called for her. "Let her go damn you!"
"Stay back princes'! right here and now, I'm going to take the life of Trinity D' Leavitt! Vous devrez payer pour tuer mes amis que vous chienne!" [You will pay for killing my friends you bitch!] He brought the blade closer to her neck. Trinity grit her teeth as she could do nothing at the moment.
"!?" Once those words came out the unknown mans mouth Leo, Louis and Vincent felt their blood start to rush. "Take that back." Leo started.
"What?" The man looked up at Leo.
"I said, take that back! Don't you dare waste those filthy words on my Trinity!!" Leo charged right at the man.
"Leo, que vous tromper! Rester à l'écart!" [Leo you fool! Stay away!] Trinity yelled at him.
"S-stay away from me! I'll kill her!" The man removed the blade way from her face and pointed it at the charging Leo. Trinity noticed his movements and took the chance to act. Trinity took her elbow and drove it back into the man's stomach. She then turned around and kicked him the groin, making him bow before her. "Trinity you bitch!" The man dropped the dagger and held his groin and stomach all at the same time while looking up at her and glaring harshly into her eyes.
Trinity bent over and picked up the dagger and held it up to the mans neck. "I do not remember, nor do I care for the rodents who you called your 'friends' but what I do know, is that you will die here by my hands, and by the same 'bitch' who you despise so much." Trinity smirked and the swiftly slid the daggers sharp edge along the mans throat. Blood steadily dripped then began to spray like a showers in her face. Blood had also gotten on her dress and in her pure white hair.
Before the young men's eyes, the man collapsed and their eyes widened at the horror before them. "Trinity..." The young men just stood there and watched her stand back up straight. Once she looked back, her eyes met with all three of theirs. Trinity then started to advance towards them, mainly at Leo. She eventually stood in front of Leo. She looked up and reached her bloody hands upwards to up his face.
"This is the path I have chosen and this is the path I will stay on, Leo. Il y n'avait aucune façon en enfer j'oublierais ce grand sourire tristement célèbre de la vôtre." [There was no way I would forget that infamous big grin of yours.]
"!" His eyes widened even further. Her hands dropped from his face and then she proceeded in walking past the other two. Trinity! What about everyone in the ballroom."
She stopped and looked back at him. "....They're most likely dead, prince Leo. May I assume you know how to leave here without getting caught. Oh, and please don't let wind of this get out. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to retire for real this time."
"Louis! Vincent! It's been ages!" Leo exclaimed as he walked towards Louis and Vincent. A bright grin was worn on Leo's face. He had spotted the two walking with one another while walking up the palace stairs. Within the crowd of people walking inside the palace, he was able to spot the two.

"Hey, no skin off my back." Leo smiled and both him and Vincent started walking behind Louis.
